Program Model

Eight steps from vacant home to family ownership.

A clear, accountable model designed to be measurable, repeatable, and grant-ready.

  1. Step 1

    Identify vacant homes

Locate vacant or abandoned properties in target Arkansas neighborhoods using city records, partners, and field surveys.

  2. Step 2

Purchase homes for $15,000 or less

Acquire structurally viable properties priced at or below the pilot's acquisition threshold.

  3. Step 3

    Invest ~$40,000 in rehabilitation

Complete safety, structural, plumbing, electrical, roofing, HVAC, flooring, and livability upgrades.

  4. Step 4

    Place qualified families

Match each restored home with a qualified family selected through our screening and application process.

  5. Step 5

    5 years of education

Budgeting, investing, financial literacy, business development, and family stability coaching.

  6. Step 6

    Families steward the home

Pay property taxes, utilities, and household bills; maintain the home responsibly.

  7. Step 7

    Families complete the program

Fulfill all education, stewardship, and business plan requirements over the full 5-year period.

  8. Step 8

    Foundation gifts the home

Upon successful completion, and subject to legal review and funding, the home is gifted to the family.

This is a proposed pilot program. All numbers are estimated and projected. Final home transfers depend on funding, qualified family selection, legal review, property condition, and successful completion of the full 5-year program requirements.
